Modern Myth sources authentic, artisanal Moroccan rugs that bring timeless beauty into your home.

Modern Myth is an exploration of my two great passions: textiles and design. 

Weaving culture has always felt like home to me; as a child I had my own loom and I would weave contentedly for hours. In my early adult life, I became an avid traveler and wherever I went, I found myself drawn to weaving villages, capitvated by the artisanal craft and slow pace of life. When I visited Morocco for the first time in 2017, I met the Berber women weavers and fell madly in love with the incredible textiles they produce. Although I had previously sourced textiles and handmade art to gift to friends and family, it was then that I knew I wanted to forge a deeper and more sustained connection with this community and their craft. 

I've always been a visual person, when I walk into a room, I rearrange the space in my mind's eye, visualizing new colors, shapes, and textures. To explore how design impacts our experience within a space, I studied at the Heritage School of Interior Design. As a residential designer, creating beautiful spaces has become one of my most treasured art forms. 

Modern Myth is the natural unfurling of these explorations into weaving cultures, textiles, and interior design. Through this project, I've sought to challenge and refine my own perspective on place, purpose, and belonging.  I hope to share that experience with you, as we build beautiful spaces of belonging together.

With an ancestral heritage dating back centuries, these artisans are the guardians of a legacy that continues to thrive in the intricate patterns and vibrant hues of their creations.

Beyond the artistry, our commitment to sustainability is woven into the fabric of each rug. Embracing eco-friendly practices, our artisans utilize locally-sourced materials and dyes, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint.
